Programming is writing a list of clear instructions for a computer to carry out, in order, exactly as written. The computer is fast and obedient but not clever — it does what you say, not what you meant.

That's the heart of it: store some values, do something with them, show a result. Everything else in this course is just more powerful ways to do those three things.
