Security in the cloud
Most organisations now run in the cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), so cloud security is a major, in-demand area. The core ideas carry over, confidentiality, least privilege, logging, but the tools and the shared-responsibility model are new.
Key ideas:
- The shared responsibility model: the provider secures the cloud itself; you secure what you put in it
- Identity and access management (IAM): least privilege, applied to the cloud
- Securing storage and networks
- Logging and monitoring in the cloud
