Breaking into cybersecurity
Landing the job
The field needs people, and you do not need a perfect background to start. Common entry points include SOC (security operations) analyst, IT support moving into security, and junior penetration tester.
What helps you get hired:
- A foundational certification (CompTIA Security+ is the common one)
- Hands-on proof: labs solved, small projects, a GitHub with your scripts
- A clear, tailored CV and an active LinkedIn
- Connecting with the security community
Document everything you learn on this roadmap. It becomes your portfolio.
