Who we are
RiseAfrica Foundation for STEM & Innovation (“RiseAfrica”, “we”) operates this platform to help African students learn STEM, complete challenges, and earn verifiable certificates.
What we collect
- Account information: email address, name, age band, country, and profile details you provide.
- Learning activity: challenge submissions (links you provide), reviews, certificates, and enrollments.
- Technical data: basic, privacy-respecting analytics needed to run and secure the service.
We do not sell your personal data.
Students under 18
Many of our students are minors. We capture an age band during sign-up and require parental or guardian consent for users under 18. We comply with applicable African data-protection laws, including Nigeria’s NDPR, Kenya’s Data Protection Act, and South Africa’s POPIA. Parents or guardians may request access to or deletion of a minor’s data at any time.
How we use your data
- To operate the platform: accounts, submissions, reviews, and certificates.
- To send essential notifications (e.g. review outcomes and certificate issuance).
- To measure and report aggregate, de-identified impact.
Data sharing & storage
Your data is stored securely with our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel). We use row-level security so users can only access their own data. We share data only as needed to operate the service or where required by law.
Your rights

Datasets & ethics
Datasets on the platform are reviewed for ethics before publication and are aggregated or de-identified. We do not knowingly publish data that enables re-identification of individuals.
