Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of RiseAfrica.

Last updated: June 2026

Acceptance

By using the RiseAfrica platform you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the platform.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your account secure.
  • You are responsible for the work and links you submit.
  • Do not share access to your account with others.

Acceptable use

  • Submit your own work; do not plagiarise or misrepresent others’ work as your own.
  • Do not upload malicious, illegal, or harmful content.
  • Respect the community, mentors, and other students.

Challenges, reviews & certificates

Submissions are reviewed by mentors and admins. Certificates are issued upon approval and are verifiable via a public link. We may revoke a certificate if it was issued in error or obtained through misconduct; revocation is reflected immediately on the verification page.

Datasets & third-party tools

Datasets are provided for learning under their stated licenses. Tools such as Google Colab and GitHub are third-party services governed by their own terms.

Content & intellectual property

You retain ownership of the work you create. By submitting, you grant RiseAfrica permission to review your work and, where you opt in, to showcase approved projects.

Disclaimer

The platform is provided “as is” for educational purposes. We work hard to keep it available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
