The Core Skill: Prompting · Lesson 4 of 12
Do not stop at the first answer: refine
The step that makes it great
The first answer is a draft, not the finish line. After the AI replies, talk back to it. These short follow-ups turn a good draft into the right one:
- "Make it shorter and simpler."
- "That is too formal, make it warmer."
- "Give me 3 different versions."
- "Add a real example to back that up."
- "Rewrite it so it sounds more like me."
- "Explain why you wrote it that way."
Refining is where the quality comes from. Two or three rounds will beat any single perfect prompt.
Your turn
Take the result from the last lesson and refine it at least twice. Try one follow-up that changes the tone and one that changes the length. Notice how much better it gets.
