A topic is broad, like "youth unemployment". A research question is narrow and answerable, like "How do digital skills programmes affect youth employment in urban Sierra Leone?"

A strong research question is:

• Specific: it names who, what, and where
• Answerable: you can investigate it with available evidence
• Worth asking: the answer would teach us something
