Keeping it sounding like you

For many students, especially those writing in a second or third language, grammar help is one of the most valuable and most honest uses of AI. Fixing grammar on your own ideas is editing, not cheating.

But there is a risk: AI editing can flatten your writing until it sounds like everyone else's. Watch for that.

A balanced prompt:

Fix the grammar and spelling in this text. Keep my wording and style as much as
possible. Do not change my meaning or make it sound generic.

After it edits, read the result aloud. If it no longer sounds like you, change it back. Your voice matters. A real human voice is a strength in academic writing, not a weakness.

Practice

Run one of your paragraphs through a grammar fix prompt. Compare it to your original. Keep the grammar fixes, but restore any wording that stopped sounding like you.
